The app is free.
Being first isn't.
Fliper Studio will be free to download and free to use. You only pay when you ask the AI to make something. Founding seats, starting at $25 for the first 1,000, are for people who want in during October, at a generation rate that never rises, and who are willing to help cover the last stretch of the build.
Why the app is free
Because it costs us nothing to run. The editor, the engine, playtesting, exporting and publishing all happen on your machine. Charging for software that runs on your own computer would be charging you for our logo, not for a cost.
Generating a game is the opposite. Every prompt, every sprite, every retry burns compute we pay for, every single time, forever. That part is metered, because it's the only part with a bill attached.
You pay for what costs us money. Nothing else.
No subscription either. A monthly fee charges you in the months you don't open the app, which is charging for nothing. Credits sit there until you use them.
So what does the seat buy?
- ✓A guaranteed October place. Not "in the running". First group, installer in your inbox while everyone else waits for December.
- ✓A pack of generation credits. This is the part you're actually pre-buying, at the best rate this product will ever have.
- ✓The founder rate, locked forever. Whatever generation costs the public later, you pay the founder price. It never rises. This is the most valuable line on this page.
- ✓Enough credits to ship your first game, guaranteed. Run out before your first game reaches an exportable build and we top you up free. No argument, no form.
- ✓A direct line to the people writing the code, and a vote on which genre templates get tuned next.
Where your money goes
Not a runway, not salaries, not a launch party. The specific, boring, unavoidable costs that stand between a working build and a shipped product:
- →The Windows code signing certificate. Without it, the installer triggers a red security warning on every machine. It costs money and takes weeks to issue.
- →Generation infrastructure for the October beta group.
- →Store developer accounts and fees so exports can be tested end to end, on real stores, before you rely on them.
- →The last stretch of development time between a thing that works and a thing you'd pay for.
If the seats don't sell, that's information too, and we'd rather have it in August than in December.
What you don't get
The part most pre-launch offers leave out. If any of it is a dealbreaker, please don't buy. The app will be free anyway, and the waitlist costs you nothing.
- ✗Software you couldn't have had for free. The app is free for everyone. You're buying the queue and the rate, not the program.
- ✗Unlimited generation. Credits are finite. Heavy users buy more, at the founder rate.
- ✗Equity, shares or profit share. None. This is a product purchase, not an investment.
- ✗Finished software. In October it's a beta. Things will break, and some of them will be annoying.
- ✗3D or multiplayer. Not at launch, and we're not promising a date.
- ✗macOS. Windows first. Mac comes after launch.
- ✗A shortcut past Steam or Google Play. Their accounts, fees and reviews stay theirs.
Two guarantees, in writing
30 days to change your mind. Any reason, or none. Email us and it's refunded. We don't ask why.
A ship-by date. No working release by 31 March 2027 and you get every cent back on request. Pre-buying from a product that doesn't exist yet should carry a floor, and this is ours.
The questions worth asking
If the app is free, why pay anything?
Two reasons, and if neither applies to you then don't.
October instead of December. Beta places are limited and the free waitlist competes for them. A seat skips that queue entirely.
A rate that never moves. Compute prices change. Yours won't. If you plan to make more than one or two games, that's worth more over time than anything else on this page.
How many credits do I get, and what do they cost?
The exact numbers are published before the app ships. We're still measuring what a real generation costs under load, and a number posted now would be a guess we'd have to walk back.
What's already committed in writing: enough to take your first game to an exportable build, guaranteed. Run out before that and we top you up free. If we've misjudged the allowance, that's our problem to absorb, not yours.
What happens when I run out of credits?
The AI stops. Everything else keeps working: opening projects, editing values and code by hand, playtesting, exporting a Windows build, shipping to Steam or Google Play.
Nothing you already made becomes inaccessible, ever. Your projects are real Godot projects in a folder on your drive, and they'd survive us disappearing entirely.
Could you raise credit prices later?
Public prices, yes. Compute costs move, in both directions. Your founder rate doesn't. It's attached to your seat permanently.
Do my credits expire?
No. They sit there until you use them. That's the whole reason we're not doing a subscription: a monthly fee charges you in the months you don't open the app, which is charging for nothing.
What am I funding?
The code signing certificate, the generation infrastructure for the beta, the store developer accounts, and the remaining development time. Listed above because you should know before you pay.
It isn't equity and it isn't a loan. You're pre-buying something you were going to buy anyway, at the best rate it will ever have, and it happens to arrive when we need it.
What exactly arrives in October?
An installer for Windows and your account, by email, with credits loaded. You describe a game, it builds it, you play it, and you can export a Windows build.
It will be a beta. Expect rough edges, expect to send us bug reports, and expect us to reply.
What if you get acquired or shut down?
If the company is acquired, credit balances and founder rates transfer with it. That's standard, and we'd insist on it.
If we shut down, the app keeps opening and your projects keep working, because both live on your machine. Unused credits at that point would be money we owe you, and the refund guarantees above are the floor on that.
I'm outside the United States. Any difference?
None. Stripe handles currency conversion and the price is the same everywhere.
Or just wait for December
The app will be free then, and free forever after. The waitlist costs nothing, puts you in the running for an October place, and you can move up the queue by bringing people with you.
